How it works
Nominating us takes about a minute and does not affect your GP, your prescription record, or your right to change your mind later.
-
01
Nominate us
Tell your GP surgery that A1 Pharmacy is your nominated pharmacy, or ask us to do it. Your electronic repeats then arrive with us automatically, with nothing to collect from the surgery.
-
02
Order when you need it
Use the form below, call us, or just walk in. We will chase your surgery if an item has not been issued, which is the step that most often goes wrong.
-
03
A pharmacist checks it
Every item is checked against your record for interactions, duplication and doses that no longer fit. If something looks wrong, we speak to your prescriber before dispensing.
-
04
Collect or we deliver
A text when it is ready. Collect from the counter, or free delivery locally. Housebound patients can be added to a standing delivery round.
Order a repeat
Tell us what you need
Allow two working days — most of that is your surgery issuing the prescription, not us dispensing it. We will text you the moment it is ready.
If it is urgent
If you have run out of an essential medicine, call us on +000 0000 0000 rather than using this form. We can often supply an emergency quantity the same day.
Common questions
Does nominating you cost anything?
No. Nomination is free and it does not change your prescription charges. If you pay for prescriptions, a prepayment certificate is usually worth it above about 12 items a year — ask us and we will do the maths with you.
Can I still use another pharmacy?
Yes. Nomination is a default, not a lock-in. You can collect a one-off prescription anywhere, and you can change or remove your nomination at any time without telling us why.
What if an item is missing from my repeat?
We will contact your surgery on your behalf and chase it. This is the single most common delay in the whole process, and it is the part we can actually do something about.
Do you deliver?
Free locally, usually next working day. Housebound patients can be added to a standing round. Outside that radius we post by a national courier.
Can you dispense controlled drugs?
Yes, subject to the usual legal requirements. Schedule 2 and 3 items must be collected in person with photographic identification, and cannot be delivered.
