A pharmacist in the consulting area

Clinical services

Most of it, without a GP appointment.

Our pharmacists are independent prescribers. For a good number of everyday problems we can assess you, treat you, and — where it matters — tell you plainly that this is not one for a pharmacy and help you get to the right place instead.

    Repeat Prescriptions

Order, track and collect — or have them delivered free within five miles.

Nominate us as your pharmacy and your electronic repeats arrive here automatically. We will text you when they are ready, chase your surgery when an item is missing, and synchronise the dates so everything lands together instead of in four separate trips.

    • Automatic electronic prescription collection
    • SMS when your order is ready
    • Free local delivery within five miles
    • Repeat synchronisation across all items

    Pharmacy First Consultations

Seven common conditions assessed and treated without a GP appointment.

Our pharmacists can assess and, where appropriate, supply prescription-only treatment for seven conditions under the Pharmacy First scheme — no GP appointment, no referral. If it turns out to be something else, we will tell you and help you get to the right place.

    • Sore throat
    • Earache (ages 1–17)
    • Sinusitis
    • Impetigo
    • Shingles
    • Infected insect bites
    • Uncomplicated UTI (women 16–64)
  • 03

    Travel Health & Vaccination

A risk assessment for where you are actually going, then the schedule to match.

A full itinerary-based risk assessment covering vaccination, malaria prophylaxis, altitude and food and water precautions. Some schedules need four to six weeks, so come to us early — we can still help at two weeks, with fewer options.

    • Itinerary risk assessment
    • Yellow fever (certified centre)
    • Typhoid, hepatitis A & B, rabies
    • Antimalarials supplied on site
    • Signed certificates where required
  • 04

    Blood Pressure Checks

A proper seated reading, and someone to interpret it with you.

Five minutes sitting quietly, then two readings a minute apart, taken on a validated monitor with the correct cuff size. If your numbers warrant it we will lend you a monitor for a week of home readings and refer you on with the average.

    • Validated device, correct cuff sizing
    • Ambulatory monitor loan where indicated
    • Direct referral to your GP if needed
    • No appointment necessary
  • 05

    Structured Medicines Review

Twenty minutes on what you take, why, and what could come off the list.

A sit-down review of everything you take, prescribed or otherwise. We look for interactions, duplications, medicines that have outlived their reason, and anything causing side effects you have been quietly tolerating. Bring your supplements too — they count.

    • Full interaction and duplication check
    • Deprescribing recommendations to your GP
    • Dose timing simplification
    • Inhaler and device technique check
  • 06

    Health Screening

Cholesterol, HbA1c and kidney function, with the results explained properly.

A finger-prick sample analysed by a ISO 15189-accredited laboratory, covering lipids, average blood glucose and kidney function. Results in three to five working days, followed by a consultation to go through what they mean — because a number without context helps nobody.

    • Full lipid profile
    • HbA1c (three-month average glucose)
    • eGFR kidney function
    • Follow-up consultation included
    • GP referral letter if indicated

Not sure which you need?

Describe it and we will tell you.

Call, or come to the counter. If it turns out to be something for your GP or for A&E, we will say so straight away rather than selling you something first.
